INTEREST LEVEL IN VOLUNTEER ROLES

There are two main volunteer roles to engage in – Client Lead and Project Volunteer. Please indicate your interest level in each of these roles based on the description listed.

Client Leads are the primary liaison with the Client in Africa – to ensure that as a whole – the timing, implementation and communication of projects meet the expectations of the Client. Client Leads are responsible for, among other thing, building relationships and facilitating calls between project volunteers, the Client, and the Field Team in Africa to encourage and track project and client progress. Essentially this is a project management and relationship management role supporting a Client who might have 2-3 projects active at a time. The Client Lead role is open to volunteers from all areas of expertise. The time commitment as a Client Lead is about an hour or two a week.

Project Volunteers provide business or technical expertise to a specific project for a Client. Knowledge is remotely transferred by participating on conference calls and exchanging emails with the Client and Field Team in Africa. The time commitment as a Project Volunteer is about an hour a week.

VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT

PARTNERS IN FOOD SOLUTIONS
VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT: TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Partners In Food Solutions (PFS) Purpose And Expectations

PFS is a 501(C)3 charitable organization located in Minneapolis Minnesota. PFS provides services to address the nutritional needs and food security of vulnerable populations in underdeveloped and developing countries in the world, including several countries in Africa, by providing technological and other volunteer assistance to improve food quality and availability at the local and regional levels in the food sector of these countries. As part of this effort, PFS links the expertise of its volunteers to assist with technical and business needs of small and medium-size food processors in the developing world, with the goal of improving the ability of the companies it assists to produce high-quality, nutritious and safe food at affordable prices and increasing demand for the crops of small-holder farmers who supply those companies (the "Initiative").

Participation and Ethics

PFS has entered into agreements with various partner organizations ("Partners") to make PFS volunteer opportunities available to their employees and retirees ("Volunteers") who wish to participate and to make the knowledge and skills of the Volunteers available to PFS's clients. Volunteer opportunities are available only to employees and retirees of PFS Partners. As a PFS Volunteer, you agree (1) as a minimum standard of conduct, that you will abide by the same rules of conduct, ethics and confidentiality that govern employees of the PFS Partner; (2) that it is your responsibility to regularly review those requirements to assure that you remain in compliance with them; (3) that you will abide by any additional PFS rules of conduct, ethics and confidentiality that are communicated to you, whether on this website or in other written or oral communications; and (4) that you will abide by the highest ethical standards and at all times you will be guided by and mindful of the humanitarian purposes of PFS.
